Pride Parade
Pride is more traditional than you might think. Its history spans more than 50 years, dating back to 1969, when LGBTQ+ people first took to the streets of New York to demand equal rights. Carry their legacy forward and join the Prague Pride Parade. Together, let’s show that we want to live in a world built on equality and respect. And who knows—along the way, we might leave a few oppressive traditions behind and create some new ones of our own.
After the attack on Pride participants in Berlin, the reasons to join the Pride parade are stronger than ever. We must not allow hatred and the threat of violence to drive us back into invisibility.
There’s a stage on Wenceslas Square – arrive early!
We’ll meet on Saturday, 8 August, at 10:00 AM in the lower part of Wenceslas Square. While the parade is assembling, DJ Jan Witek will be playing on the stage at Můstek, creating the perfect atmosphere from the very beginning. Jan will also host the gathering and share all the practical information you need before we set off. At 11:55, we will observe a minute of silence for the victims of the terrorist attack in Berlin.
The parade begins at 12:00 PM.
At the stalls in the lower part of Wenceslas Square, you can make a last-minute protest sign for the parade or get your face painted. For everyone’s safety, we ask that you carry your sign by hand this year, without a pole. If you really want to hold it above your head, please use a reusable rigid plastic pole instead. Do not use wooden poles or handles.
Or pick up some rainbow essentials at the Queershop stand if you’re feeling underdressed. You can also stop by one of the Sephora store Na Příkopech and enjoy complimentary rainbow make-up.
You will likely see street vendors selling rainbow flags in Wenceslas Square and along the parade route again this year. Please note that they are not affiliated with the festival. If you buy from them, the proceeds go entirely to the vendors and do not support Prague Pride. Instead, we encourage you to shop at the official Queershop stalls, where your purchase helps support the festival.
A drinking water tank will be available on Wenceslas and Old Town Square, so don’t forget to bring a reusable water bottle and fill it up before the parade begins.
Look out for one another and stay safe
In light of the heightened security measures introduced following the deadly attack on Pride participants in Berlin, the organising team reserves the right to remove anyone from the event who does not comply with the festival’s safety rules.
Please follow the instructions of the organising team and the police at all times. If you notice anything suspicious, report it immediately to the nearest police officer, security staff member, or any member of the organising team carrying a radio. Please do not try to deal with the situation yourself.
Do not let anyone provoke you, even if they shout abuse at you. Our response is to remain calm, peaceful, and dignified.
You’ll find security staff and first aid teams throughout the parade, as well as at every Sky Stage.
The weather forecast suggests high temperatures this year. Be sure to bring plenty of water (a drinking water tank will be available on Wenceslas and Old Town Square), wear a hat or other sun protection, and apply sunscreen before setting off. Depending on the latest forecast, you may also want to pack a raincoat.
Stay together, look out for one another, and take care of each other. We march for ourselves and for all LGBTQ+ people.
The Parade Stays – The Route Changes
We set off from the lower end of Wenceslas Square at 12 noon.
The parade is taking a new route this year. We’ll walk along Na Příkopě, turn onto Celetná at Republic Square, and continue to Old Town Square. From there, we’ll make our way along Pařížská Street, and follow the river via Dvořák Embankment and Ludvík Svoboda Embankment to Těšnov, before crossing Hlávkův Bridge onto Štvanice Island.
At Těšnov, the parade will pass through the tram tunnel. The tunnel itself is approximately 30 metres long, followed by about 160 metres beneath the road surface. If you are not comfortable walking through this section, you can take an alternative route: continue along the riverside pavement beside the Vltava River directly to Hlávkův Bridge, then use the stairs next to the Fuchs2 building to reach the island.
If you choose this alternative route, which does not go through the tunnel, do not attempt to cross the main road to rejoin the parade. The highway will remain partially open to traffic, and crossing it would be extremely dangerous.
This year’s route is twice as long as in previous years. Stay hydrated, protect yourself from overheating, and don’t push yourself beyond your limits.
On Štvanice island, Pride Park will be waiting in all its colour and glory, with five stages of live music and performances, plenty of food and drink stalls, and an unforgettable atmosphere lasting until 10:00 PM.
As always, music will accompany the parade from the Sky Stages placed along the route. But don’t hesitate to bring your own music, too. Let’s make some noise!
Toilets along the parade route
Stay hydrated—collapsing from dehydration is definitely not part of the plan. A drinking water tank will be available on Wenceslas and Old Town Square. If you need a toilet during the parade, you can use the following facilities:

Sustainability and Safety First
Caring for the environment and ensuring the safety of everyone taking part remain our top priorities. That’s why this year’s parade, once again, will be car-free. This allows us to follow a unique route through the heart of Prague’s historic centre while keeping the parade safe and sustainable.
Several Sky Stages with DJs will be located along the parade route. Because this year’s route is much longer, the parade may feel quieter in some sections. If you can, bring a portable speaker and help make sure our voices are heard!
But Pride is about more than music. Above all, it’s about being visible, standing together, and making it clear that we are here.
Registered Groups in the Parade
Everyone is welcome to join the Prague Pride Parade. Below, you’ll soon find a list of registered groups—including festival partners, non-profit organisations, embassies, and others—that have signed up in advance. Each group will have a designated place in the parade, making it easier for you to find your way and join the people you’d like to march with.
Accessibility – suitable also for children and teenagers, accessible with a dog, barrier-free
Vibe check – large capacity event (more than 200 people, high possibility of physical contact), loud event, outdoors
Organized by – Prague Pride Festival
Prague Pride Festival showcases queer art, discusses important contemporary topics, and connects queer people, allies, and the wider public. Part of the festival programme is created and produced by the organising team itself, while the rest is brought to life by nonprofit and cultural organisations, collectives, and passionate individuals who help make Prague Pride the largest queer event in the Czech Republic. The theme of Prague Pride Festival 2026 is “Times Are Changing.”
